Scott Brown

Established in 2008 in East Kilbride, Scott G Brown Opticians’ goal is to offer quality eyecare and eyewear to suit every budget, ensuring we offer solutions to every patient at a price they are comfortable with in a friendly, welcoming environment.

In 2021 David Wyse Opticians, Johnstone, was bought by Scott G Brown Opticians and underwent an extensive a refit in early April 2024 to update the practice. The ethos of a no-pressure sales environment will mirror that of our East Kilbride practice

In April 2024 we invested over £150,000 updating both practices to include the most up-to-date hospital-quality equipment and deliver the highest possible eyecare under the NHS. The vast majority of eye tests in Scotland are free to UK residents although some exceptions apply. Contact us to check your eligibility for a free test if you are unsure.

Our optometrist, Scott Brown, qualified in 1995. He worked at Dollond & Aitchison Opticians East Kilbride where he was closely involved with the pre-registration programme, helping future opticians in their final year of studies. He also supervised the 4th year optometry-degree clinic at Caledonian University from 2001-2008.  In 2008 he left the multiple optician market as he felt it was becoming a sales and target-driven environment where the needs of the patient was becoming secondary to turnover and profits.

He vowed on opening his own practice his staff would never be given sales targets or encouraged to promote unnecessary coatings or add-ons, something he continues to be passionate about today.

I have been a patient with Scott for nearly 20 years. I would not dream of going anywhere else. His manner, advice and knowledge is exceptional.
Mrs JM
Scott identified a cancer at the back of my eye. His dedication very probably saved my life. It certainly saved my eyesight.
After trying several other opticians I found the perfect frames and lenses at Scott’s practice. The patience and knowledge of his staff was very impressive.
Scott identified and fixed an eye-muscle issue within 15 minutes that another practice had failed to resolve in 6 months of visits. I wouldn’t go any where else now.

Your eyesight is priceless, your glasses needn't be.

In our practices we stock something for every pocket. If you are in receipt of qualifying benefits we have dozens of free glasses complete with lenses.

For those on a budget we have varifocals from £69 complete.

If you're looking for the latest high-definition digital varifocals or designer frames we also stock a huge range including Boss, Guess, Gant, Nike, Adidas, Carolina Herrera, Carrera, Marc Jacobs and Ray-Ban. And as an independent we can often source frames not in stock. Just ask.

We know how to deliver your vision
